Fish & Game, Franconia Firefighters Assist Concord Rock Climber

A capital city man was injured while rock climbing on the Greenleaf Trail Saturday, according to state officials.

CONCORD, NH — A rock climber from Concord was injured while in Franconia Notch State Park Saturday, according to the New Hampshire Fish & Game Department. The man, 26, suffered injuries to his lower leg after an accident. Due to the injuries, he called for assistance near the Greanleaf Trail in the state park.

The man "crawled down the trail" until he was met by EMTs from Franconia as well as volunteers from the Pemigewasset Valley Search and Rescue Team, and conservation officers from New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Sgt. Thomas Dakai of Fish & Game said that the man was carried off the trail but refused transportation to the hospital.
