Franklin Man Bagged at 105 mph on I-93: NHSP

Lynnwood Beveridge was arrested after reportedly being tracked by state police aircraft in Canterbury.

CONCORD, NH — Another day, another reported late appointment leading to reckless conduct charge against a Granite Stater, according to New Hampshire State Police. On Jan. 18, 2017, it was Anastacia Hocking allegedly stating she was late for a stereo installation appointment. Yesterday, it was Lynnwood Beveridge, 23, of Franklin.

According to state police, at just after 10 a.m. on Jan. 19, a trooper with the unit’s Special Enforcement Unit was monitoring traffic from the air on I-93 south in Canterbury and reportedly saw a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck reportedly driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was allegedly clocked at 105 mph in a 70 zone.

A state trooper sergeant on the ground pulled the truck over and spoke with Beveridge.

“When asked why he was traveling at that speed, Beveridge stated that he was late to pick up a friend,” according to state police.

Beveridge was charged with reckless driving and is due in court on March 3.

In a statement, state police noted that the Special Enforcement Unit regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol across the state often utilizing the State Police aircraft during commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping New Hampshire’s roadways safe for all residents and visitors, according to a press statement.
