Fugitive Caught in Massachusetts

John Wentworth was wanted for a parole violation after being convicted of negligent homicide.

Last week’s Fugitive of the Week, a New Hampshire man wanted on a parole violation, has been caught in Massachusetts, according to an alert.

John Wentworth, 26, was arrested in Lawrence, MA, this afternoon by U.S. Marshals, according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White.

White said in a statement that Wentworth being featured as the Fugitive of the Week led to “a lot of information” being developed from sources that led marshals to locate Wentworth in Lawrence on June 2, 2015, and take him into custody.

This arrest, he noted, was made possible by “the hard work of several members of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force” including, Strafford and Rockingham County Sheriff’s Offices, N.H. Department of Corrections – Probation & Parole, and the Manchester Police Department, along with deputy U.S. Marshals.

Wentworth was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for a parole violation. He was on parole as a result of a conviction and sentence for negligent homicide. This negligent homicide charge was from a 2010 fight, in which the victim died as a result of the injuries inflicted by Wentworth, according to White.
