“Gonzalez was wanted on an outstanding federal arrest warrant for supervised release violations; he was on supervised release as a part of his conviction and sentence for possession with intent to distribute cocaine,” White said in a statement.
After being featured as the Fugitive of the Week in April, marshals received “numerous tips” which were eyed by the task force.
“Several recent tips were received indicating that Gonzalez had been staying at an apartment on Calef Road,” White said. “This recent information caused investigators to respond to the Calef Road residence. After approaching the residence, Gonzalez came out and surrendered after realizing that the house was surrounded and he could not escape.”
Due to the nature of the hunt for Gonzalez as well as his gang ties and violent tendencies, the task force was assisted by the Strafford and Rockingham County Sheriff’s Offices, the U.S. Department of State, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), deputy U.S. Marshals, along with officers from the Manchester Police Department.
“This team approach ensured the safety of all members of the fugitive task force and the public,” White said.
Gonzalez is being held for processing and is expected in U.S. District Court this afternoon.
