Hassan to Nominate Bailey of Bow to NH PUC
An Air Force veteran, Bailey has been at the NH Public Utilities Commission since 1989, as a director and engineer.

Gov. Maggie Hassan, D-Exeter, announced that she will nominate Kate Bailey of Bow to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) at tomorrow’s Governor and Council meeting, according to a press statement.
The Executive Council must confirm the nomination.
“The Public Utilities Commission is critical to protecting consumers and ensuring that our people, families and businesses are able to receive safe, adequate and reliable utilities service at reasonable and fair rates,” Governor Hassan said. “Kate Bailey has a distinguished career of service at the Public Utilities Commission, and I thank her for taking on this important responsibility. I am confident that her considerable experience and dedication make her uniquely qualified to ably fulfill the PUC’s critical mission and help ensure that all parties receive a fair hearing.”

Bailey currently serves as the Director of Regulatory Innovation and Strategy at the PUC, where she has worked in various capacities since 1989. During her tenure at the PUC, she has also served as the Director of Telecommunications, Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, and Telecommunications Engineer. Bailey is also a veteran of the United States Air Force, where she served as a Communications Officer and was stationed as a Test Team Chief at Kapaun Air Station in Germany. She received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Union College and has been a licensed professional engineer in New Hampshire since 1991.
Bailey’s appointment to a term of six years is subject to Executive Council approval. The Governor will formally submit her nomination at Wednesday’s Council meeting.
