Homeless Woman Threatens to Kill Store Clerk: Court Docs

Concord Police: In a second case, Ashley Hodgdon reportedly gave a phony name – that of an alleged drug dealer – to police to evade charges.

CONCORD, NH — A local homeless woman with a string of arrests behind her ranging from theft and drugs to allegedly trying to grab a police officer's gun during a traffic stop was arrested twice last month, according to court affidavits. Ashley S. Hodgdon, 25, formerly of Penacook Street but currently homeless, was arrested on July 16, 2016, for operating without a valid license, disobeying an officer, and resisting arrest or detention. On July 17, she was arrested again for criminal threatening.

In the first situation, an officer on Fisherville Road saw a Honda Accord with an expired registration sticker and pulled the vehicle over at the Cumberland Farms at around 11 a.m. on July 4.

The officer spoke to the driver about the registration and she reportedly stated that it wasn’t her car and she was on her way to get a temporary plate because it wasn’t registered. She also reportedly didn’t have her license and then allegedly gave the name “Felicia Jordan” and a birthdate to the officer, according to an affidavit, with a home address of Regency Hill at 205 East Side Drive. The officer knew the address was actually 12 East Side Drive, due to drug dealing allegations issued against Jordan, but the woman in the car had difficulty giving the officer the correct address.

The officer checked the name and the woman in the Honda didn’t match the name’s police booking photo. The birthdate didn’t match either, according the affidavit. The officer took down more information about the name the woman gave – including the location of a tattoo – and went to speak with the driver again. When doing so, the officer didn’t see the tattoo. When asked again her name and age, the woman allegedly gave the same information, according to the affidavit.

After the officer spoke with a man at the store who reportedly knew the driver, she allegedly started the Honda, left the parking lot, and fled the scene, squealing the vehicle’s tires while leaving. The officer radioed dispatch and attempted to follow the car which reportedly was able to lose the officer near Sylvester Street.

The officer continued to look up information in the police computer system and found a call involving the Honda two days before. Another subject on the call was a man who lived on Penacook Street near Bishop Brady High School. The officer went to that address and found the Honda in the driveway.

The officer spoke with the owner of the home, who stated that the woman was named Ashley, his son’s step-daughter, and she was crashing in the basement of the home. When he called for her to come up, the son said she was no longer in the house and refused to come upstairs, according to the report.

By deduction, the officer was able to discover that the woman was actually Hodgdon and she didn’t have a valid license. An affidavit was filed for her arrested on July 11, and she was picked up on July 16.

‘I am gonna come back and kill you’

In the second case, on July 14, at around 7 p.m., an officer was sent to the Cumberland Farms on South Main Street near the Bow line for a report of a criminal threatening incident.

The store clerk stated that a woman and man were arguing at one of the gas pumps. The woman left and then the man came into the store and they spoke “casually” about the pair arguing and then he left.

About five minutes later, the woman came into the store and reportedly began yelling at her.

“(The woman) stated the female came up to her, pointing her finger at her, and stated, ‘You f------ c--- I am gonna kill you,’” the report alleged, “and then stated, ‘I know what time your shift is over, I am gonna come back and kill you.’”

The woman got into the vehicle then left the parking lot.

The clerk was very upset by the encounter and remained upset after describing the allegation to the officer, according to the report. She described the woman as short, chubby, with a lot of tattoos on her chest and other parts of her body, and was about 20 to 30.

The officer ran the plate of the vehicle and it came back as owned by a man the police hadn’t had contact with. But the vehicle had a previous incident with Hodgdon and the officer knew that she had a lot of tattoos.

Three days later, the officer learned that Hodgdon was in the Belknap County Jail after being arrested after an incident on Route 106 near the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. On Aug. 4, the officer learned that she was transferred to Merrimack County House of Corrections and spoke with her on Aug. 7.

The officer asked her what happened at the Cumberland Farms near Bow and she allegedly stated that she had “an extremely bad temper,” and after arguing with her boyfriend, yelled at the clear, too, according to the affidavit. An affidavit was issued on Aug. 8.
