Hundreds Of Concord Businesses Tap Into NH's CARES Act Funds

City businesses tap into $400 million Main Street Relief Fund — with many receiving the maximum amount of $350,000.

CONCORD, NH — More than 200 Concord businesses received money from New Hampshire's Main Street Relief Fund.

On Thursday, the Governor's Office for Emergency Relief and Recovery committee released the list of awardees from around the state. The amount of grants to the businesses in Concord ranged from $7.38 to $350,000 — the maximum amount granted to the businesses who applied for the funds.

"Additional grant awards may be made upon the completion of the review and appeals process," Kate Giaquinto, a spokeswoman for the committee, said.

Gov. Chris Sununu set aside $400 million from the state's $1.25 billion in CARES Act funds to go to businesses in May. About 13,000 businesses initially applied for prequalification to access the funds with more than 5,000 receiving funds. Checks began being sent to businesses last month.

Some of the companies receiving the maximum amount from the fund include Tio Juan's Margaritas, Secure Care LLC, Rath, Young, and Pignatelli, Legoyourmind STEM Programs, The Centennial Hotel, The Barley House Restaurant, Toasted Brothers LLC, the Friendly Toast Restaurant chain, which has its New Hampshire corporate office in Concord, Concord's Red Arrow Diner, and The Red Blazer Restaurant.

Other businesses receiving anywhere from $100,000 to $303,000 include the Granite State Candy Shoppe, Sassy Engines Inc., 3W Designs Inc., Quality Granite and Cabinetry, Orr & Reno P.A., New Hampshire Print & Mail Services, Gibson's Bookstore, Gondwana & Divine Clothing Co., Diamond Fire Protection Services LLC, L.A. Brochu Nursery, Contractors Risk Management Inc., Nathan Wechsler & Co. P.A., Makris Lobster & Steak House, The Hotel Concord, Lakes Region Tent & Event LLC, Aesthetic Dental Center, and Hire Vision Staffing LLC.
