Concord Man Faces Child Rape Charges; Accused Of Admitting In Recording, ‘I’m A Sociopath’
Report: Admission recorded during one-party intercept call; Jonathan Shaw faces three sexual assault counts, two child endangerment charges.

CONCORD, NH — A man from Concord is facing five felony charges after being accused of sexually assaulting two girls on Loudon Road.
On July 6 and July 8, two women met with police officers about possible sexual assault incidents involving two girls under the age of 11 who live in Concord and Goffstown.
During a discussion with one of the women about staying at the home of the second girl, a girl said she had to tell her something but did not want her to be “mad.” During the discussion, the child accused Jonathan Shaw, 28, of Loudon Road in Concord, of making her and the other girl take off their clothes and pose for photos. She also accused him of sexually assaulting them. Afterward, Shaw was accused of following one of the girls into a bathroom, asking for forgiveness, and for them to remain friends, an affidavit stated.

The report said the officer interviewed the first girl about the incident and she accused Shaw of surprising her with the attack when she thought she was going to get a snack.
The second girl was interviewed two days later by a different officer. The second woman was also interviewed after receiving a text message from the first girl. The report said the woman did a bit of investigating about the communication between Shaw and the girls. The two women also met to discuss the incidents, which they believed occurred in October 2022, an affidavit said.

The officer contacted a senior assistant attorney general to request permission for a one-party intercept call with Shaw, according to a report. The officer received authorization and set up one of the women to call Shaw as the consented party, the report said.
The report said the woman attempted to call Shaw repeatedly and eventually reached him. She was “genuinely upset” and “cried profusely” during the process, which lasted around 30 minutes, the affidavit said.
“At one point during the interview,” the officer wrote, “(she) gave me a thumbs-up sign to indicate that Jonathan disclosed incriminating evidence.”
After the phone call ended, the officer listened to the recording and accused Shaw of questioning the accusations and denying them. But later, the report said, he admitted to needing help.
About 15 minutes in, Shaw said, “I'm a very sick person. Whatever they say, just take it, just … anything they say. Just take it,” the report said. When asked directly if he raped the girls, he was accused of saying, “Why would they make anything up?” Toward the end of the call, the officer said Shaw went on “an emotional tirade,” suggesting “the truth isn’t gonna help you with anything,” blaming his brain shutting off, calling himself “a sociopath,” and saying, “I did it,” the affidavit said. He also requested police come and arrest him, according to the report.
Police went to Shaw’s apartment to interview him, informing him he was not under arrest, the report said. During the discussion, Shaw was accused of admitting to sexually assaulting the girls within the last year, but he did not know the exact date. The affidavit said he confirmed other information brought forward to the police. Shaw also told the officer he had been diagnosed with “sociopath tendencies,” the report said.
On Monday, the girls were interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center about the specifics of the incidents and case. On Tuesday, a warrant was issued for Shaw’s arrest.
Shaw was arrested on Wednesday on two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and a single count of felonious sexual assault, all felonies. He refused bail and was taken to the Merrimack County Jail. Shaw was scheduled to be in Merrimack County Superior Court for arraignment on Thursday.
