IMAGES: Old North Cemetery Makeover

Recreation department, others restore historic fencing.

On Sept. 13, the , along with Praxair/Tafa finished renovating the Minot Enclosure fence located at the Old North Cemetery on North State Street.

Karon Puffer, manager of Praxair/TAFA in Concord, met with department staff this past spring to discuss possible volunteer projects her staff and company might undertake with the assistance of parks staff. 

A complete restoration of the Minot Enclosure fence, which encompasses the area where President Franklin Pierce is buried, was decided upon.
