According to Deputy Chief John Thomas of the Concord Police Department on Monday, the discovery of the body was still an open investigation. Limited information was available about the case but police expect to issue an update soon when they have more information. Some of that information could include the gender of the body, cause of death, how long the body was there, and other information based on what detectives found at the scene and the autopsy results reveal. Detectives spent a number of hours in the area, according to scanner chatter.

The man who found the body told Patch he was smoking a cigarette while taking a break from doing laundry when he discovered the body.
