Intoxicated Woman Allegedly Bites Man During Domestic Incident

Haleen Buonano of Concord was arrested and held after allegedly attempting to strike a man with a mug. She was also charged with resisting.

CONCORD, NH — A local woman was arrested and held after reportedly being disruptive during the booking process after a domestic assault incident in the South End last month, according to police. Haleen A. Buonano, 41, of South Street in Concord, was arrested on Feb. 22, 2018, for domestic violence-simple assault, simple assault, and resisting arrest or detention. At just after 9:30 p.m., officers were sent to South Street for a report of a woman claiming that a man had grabbed her neck before leaving the home.

Soon after the woman called, dispatch told the officers that there was a man at headquarters requesting to file a report after being assaulted by a woman – the same woman who claimed to be assaulted during a previous report to 911.

The reporting officer spoke with the man who stated that the woman ,who had some health issues, had allegedly consumed a 12-pack of Twisted Tea, attempted to hit him with a mug, and then, bit him. The man stated that he had come home to check on the woman, found her taking a shower, but she allegedly began screaming at him. She allegedly attempted to hit him with the mug and he pushed her away so he wouldn’t be hit. She reportedly fell over a dog crate and then, grabbed his arm and bit him.

The officer eyed the man’s arm and observed a small mark with broken skin on the arm, consistent with a bite.

The officers then went to speak to the woman who allegedly admitted that they were involved in an incident.

“I introduced myself to Haleen and asked if she could tell me what occurred,” the reporting officer stated. “Haleen began to tell me about their dog and how it was recently staying with their friends. I asked Haleen if this was related (to the incident). Haleen snapped and became irate.”

The officer again asked Buonano if she would explain what happened and she allegedly began using obscene and vulgar language at the officers.

The officer alleged, “She yelled, ‘Get the f--- out of my house.’”

The officers continued to try and get her to speak about the incident but “it was clear that Haleen was highly intoxicated,” smelled like alcohol, had glossy eyes, and swayed while she spoke. The officer noted that she had no marks or redness around her neck as she originally reported to dispatch.

Buonano – while standing next to an empty dog crate – allegedly stated, “If you don’t get the f--- out of my house, I am going to let me dog out and it will bite you.”

The officers again tried to calm her down but she allegedly continued to yell at the officers so they placed her under arrest.

While attempting to handcuff her, Buonano allegedly struggled and was advised to stop to resisting. Eventually, they placed her in handcuffs and told her she was also going to be charged with resisting – which allegedly made her angrier and she reportedly continued to pull away as they led her to a cruiser.

Buonano was allegedly uncooperative during the booking process so she was transported directly to the Merrimack County House of Corrections.

Back in December 2017, Buonano was arrested for DWI and and transportation of alcohol/open container after a traffic stop on Loudon Road near the Steeplegate Mall.
