Knife Injury Reported At Riverbend In Concord

A patient was taken to Concord Hospital and placed on "involuntary emergency admission" after an injury was reported on Friday morning.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to Riverbend on West Street for a report of a patient stabbing themselves in the chest on Friday.

Police and fire dispatch began receiving calls about the incident just after 10 a.m. When officers and EMTs arrived, they confirmed the patient was cut and was being taken to Concord Hospital.

A Riverbend staffer told police they would be filling out IEA (“involuntary emergency admission”) paperwork for the person.

According to a Riverbend spokesperson, a client who was at Riverbend for an appointment had already cut themselves before they were on the premises. They said everyone at Riverbend was safe, and all standard safety procedures were followed.
