Kuster to Discuss Heroin Epidemic on Telephone Town Hall

WASHINGTON, DC - On May 17, 2016, U.S. Rep. Ann McLane Kuster, R-NH, will host her 11th telephone town hall since taking office, according to a press statement.

The town hall will focus specifically on the Congresswoman’s efforts to address the opioid epidemic sweeping across the Granite State. Kuster is the co-founder of the Bipartisan Task Force to Combat the Heroin Epidemic.

After an unprecedented number of bills, many introduced or co-sponsored by Kuster, passed the House last week to address the epidemic, the Congresswoman will be providing an update on what these bills mean for New Hampshire. Additionally, Kuster will be joined on the call by Susan Messinger, a Holderness resident whose son Carl tragically died of a heroin overdose. Susan will share her story, and will highlight the importance of passing Jessie’s Law, a bill Kuster recently helped introduce to assist in preventing situations exactly like the one Carl found himself in which contributed to his death.

During the telephone town hall, Kuster will take calls from constituents to hear their thoughts on how Congress can continue to assist local, city, and state efforts to address the heroin crisis on the ground.

Second District residents are encouraged to join the call to share their personal stories with the Congresswoman and ask her any questions they may have about the epidemic.
