Lakes Region Felon, Convicted Armed Robber Wanted For Probation Violations: NH Corrections

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help finding a felon wanted for probation violations, who has a lengthy criminal history and was last known to be in the Lakes Region.
Eric Kyle Gonyer is 40, white, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighs around 225 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. According to corrections officials, Gonyer has a bull tattoo on his left calf. The warrants against him were out of Belknap and Merrimack county superior courts. The warrants, investigators said, were for violation of probation in Belknap County and a pending narcotics possession charge in Merrimack County.
“Gonyer also has misdemeanor charges pending in several district courts,” an alert stated. “(He) was made aware of the warrant and offered several opportunities to turn himself in but is refusing to do so.”

Officials said Gonyer had been known to frequent the Belmont, Franklin, Gilford, and Laconia areas in the past.
“He has been seen driving various vehicles despite not possessing a valid driver’s license,” investigators said.

Gonyer has a “long history of drug use and failing to comply with all treatment recommendations,” including a criminal record that dates back more than 23 years.
According to superior court records, Gonyer’s criminal history dates back to January 2001, when he was accused of robberies in Concord and Tilton and pleaded guilty to several counts many months later.
In May 2009, he was accused of possession-sale of narcotics and pleaded guilty to the single felony count two months later.
A couple of years later, he was accused of felony drug possession and felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, both in separate cases in Northfield. He pleaded guilty to the drug charge in May 2013 while the weapon charge was dropped. He was found guilty of a probation violation in August 2015.
Two and half years later, Gonyer was accused of acts prohibited and trespass charges in Gilford. He pleaded guilty to two of the drug charges in April 2019. Gonyer was also found guilty on two violation of probation or parole charges in proceeding years.
In December 2019, he was charged with possession again, after an incident in Gilford. He pleaded guilty in August 2020.
A little more than two years later, he was accused of drug possession in Tilton and criminal trespass and willful concealment in Gilford. Later in the year, he was hit with another violation of probation charge.
Gonyer was charged with receiving stolen property in October 2022 and pleaded guilty to a downgraded charge in July 2023.
Also, in March 2023, he was accused of acts prohibited, falsifying physical evidence, and driving charges in Franklin. Gonyer was supposed to take a plea in December 2023 but failed to appear. A warrant was issued for his arrest. He was found and released on $1,500 cash bail. However, on Jan. 8, a motion was issued to revoke his bail. A warrant was issued for Gonyer’s arrest. A status conference was held on Jan. 29.
