CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office has released the name of the person shot and killed during an officer-involved shooting in the Lakes Region on Sunday.

Mischa Fay, 17, was armed with a knife when police were called to Varney Point Road in Gilford around 10 p.m. on Sunday after receiving a 911 call for service. According to Michael Garrity, communications director for the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, officers found Fay armed inside the home. One officer attempted to subdue Fay via a Taser but was not successful. A second officer then fired his gun, Garrity said.

The bullet struck Fay in the chest. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
