NWS Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook for tonight, tomorrow. Up to 2 inches of snow in Southern NH; higher elevations could see more.

The National Weather Service has just issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook warning Granite Staters of late season snow late tonight and early tomorrow morning, according to an alert.

The alert was issued at 6 p.m. on April 25, 2016.

“A mixture of rain and snow will develop across portions of New Hampshire and western Maine after midnight,” according to the alert. “A slushy inch of accumulation is possible for locations above 1,000 feet in New Hampshire through daybreak...primarily over grassy surfaces.”

A “thin coating of snow” may accumulate over the region through Tuesday. Higher elevations, however, above 1,500 feet may have up to four inches of snow, according to the alert.

The snow is expected to quickly melt across the state as things warm up although the chilly Spring weather is expected to remain in the region through the end of the week.
