Late February Snowstorm Update: 8 To 18 Inches Possible In NH
National Weather Service says 8 inches of snow expected in southern New Hampshire Friday; AccuWeather says up to 18 inches in Concord.
GRAY, ME — Forecasters have increased their winter storm warning snowfall amounts for Friday to at least 8 inches in most of New Hampshire with the potential of as much as 18 inches in Concord.
Heavy snow is expected, with total accumulations of between 8 and 12 inches, the National Weather Service said on Thursday. The potential of an inch or more of snow, per hour, on Friday morning and early evening, was possible, forecasters said, making commutes difficult.
“Low pressure will track out of the Ohio Valley tonight and cross southern New England on Friday bringing periods of moderate to heavy snowfall to portions of New Hampshire and southwestern Maine,” an alert stated. “The heaviest snowfall is expected to fall from Friday morning through the early evening hours.”

AccuWeather.com forecasters said the “gigantic winter storm” which is “spreading heavy snow, ice across (an) 1,800-mile stretch,” would probably bring 6 to 12 inches of snow to the state. However, a central band of snowfall stretching from the Lakes Region to the Upper Valley, to Concord and the capital region, and Keene, could bring up to 18 inches, according to forecasters.
