CONCORD, NH — Grant funding is available for artists from the NH State Arts Council — but how does an artist access funding? The council has four workshops being held around the state to assist with the grant writing process. The workshops will assist applicants in learning if they are qualified, training in how to apply online, and the descriptions of projects that can be grant funded.

Grants can be requested based on the following categories: Artist entrepreneurial, arts in health, artist residencies in schools, arts for community engagement, folklife and traditional arts projects, traditional arts apprenticeships and youth arts projects. The funding will take place during the next fiscal year, which begins in July, according to Shelly Angers of the NH Dept. of Natural & Cultural Resources.

The workshops will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the Rochester Performance and Arts Center; from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the NH Forest & Lands North Country Resource Center in Lancaster; from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 4 at the Library Arts Center in Newport; and 1 to 2 p.m. on March 5 at the Currier Museum of Art, Manchester.
