Local Companies Receive Job Training Grants
Matching grants will help train Concord, Laconia workers with new skills, according to Gov. Maggie Hassan.

Two local companies have been awarded job training grants in an effort to help train workers with new skills, according to a press statement issued by Gov. Maggie Hassan.
North Branch Construction Inc. of Concord received a grant of up to $3,312 for 24 employees to receive training in management and organizational techniques, public speaking and interview skills from Manchester Community College. A grant of $14,775 was also awarded to NH Ball Bearings Inc. Astro Division of Laconia for 80 employees to receive training from Tooling U and Stolter in manufacturing, leadership skills and blueprint analysis.
“I am thrilled to announce the latest round of important grants to help New Hampshire workers develop skills for high-quality jobs at growing businesses,” Hassan said. “New Hampshire’s Job Training Fund is an important resource that has helped thousands of workers develop skills critical to success in the innovation economy. In order to attract innovative businesses, help existing companies grow, and support the creation of good jobs for New Hampshire’s middle class families, we must maintain our commitment to higher education and job training.”

In total, more than $27,000 in grants were issued in this round. More than $55,000 will be spent on the retraining effort.
