Loudon Man Charged After Burglary

Concord Police: Timothy F. Landry has a history of theft convictions.

A local man is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing computers and cash from a couple and other items from a handyman he was working for.

Timothy F. Landry, 27, of Loudon, was arrested at 12:55 p.m. on Dec. 2, and charged with two felony receiving stolen property charges.

On Nov. 27, at around 2:30 p.m., an officer was called to a home on Gilmore Street for a burglary, according to court documents.

The officer spoke with a couple at the home with the woman reporting that when she got home about 30 minutes before, she found a pane of glass broken on an interior door of a back porch. The door though was still closed. The couple looked around the house for missing items and possible intruders but didn’t find anyone. The woman said when she left previously at 7:30 a.m., all the lights were off in the house but upon returning, the basement lights were on.

An inventory of missing items included $450 in cash from a yard sale that was kept from a hidden location in the house, a 13-inch Macbook laptop, a Asus Netbook, an iPod Nano, jewelry, and an uncashed paycheck valued at $885.

The officer asked the couple if they had any work done at the home and they reported that they had hired a local man to do projects around the house and had for a number of years, including, most recently, a carpet installation project. The officer asked if the man did the job alone and he reportedly had. When asked if maybe someone else had been brought to the house, the couple said they weren’t sure.

The woman called the man and he was “very upset and knew who had burglarized their home,” according to the woman who handed the officer the phone.

The man told the officer that he believed that Landry had allegedly stolen the items since he allegedly stole items from the handyman on Nov. 22, according to the report.

The man said Landry was a previous employee, according to the court document, and he alleged that he “was now burglarizing homes that he had done work at.” The officer said the handyman alleged that Landry was giving his business “a bad name.”

The man accused Landry of selling stolen items on Facebook and reportedly discovered a stolen television on his site.

The officer spoke to the detective working on the handyman’s case and exchanged details about the case.

On Nov. 27, the detective reported to the officer that the handyman ran into Landry at the Concord Public Library and the two “had a conversation” and that the handyman allegedly recovered the Macbook and Netbook from Landry.

During the next few days, the detective and officer conferred about the case, with the officer listening to the handyman’s recorded testimony about the interaction with Landry. The officer spoke to the couple and told them he might have their computers and later confirmed from serial numbers and pictures on the computers that they were owned by the couple.

A review of Landry’s criminal history revealed “several convictions for theft,” including felony theft by unauthorized taking or transfer convictions in March 2012 and April 2012 in Merrimack Superior Court.

Landry was later arrested and held without bail.
