The officers spoke with the complainant who alleged that during an argument between the man and her mother, the man turned on her and began to threaten her. The man – later identified as Geffrard – was allegedly calling the woman names and the teenager was attempted to break up the argument, ordering him to stop. Geffrard allegedly was holding a large needle, like a turkey thermometer, stating he was the worst person to mess with, and if the cops showed up, she would be dead, according to the affidavit.
“Jean-Max kept getting closer to her and that he was about 2-3 feet from her and was holding the turkey thermometer in his left hand,” the affidavit alleged. “(The victim) stated that he was yelling at her and that he was pointing the need towards her (and) stated, ‘I’m gonna kill you,’ when he came into the living room.”

The victim left and called 911 while heading to a relative’s house.
Another witness alleged that they were getting ready for a holiday party and Geffrard had been “escalating all day,” and calling the woman, “a fat b----,” according to the report. The witness alleged that Geffrard charged toward the teenager with the turkey baster and threatened to kill her, using it like a weapon. After that, they left the home, the victim noted.
Another woman who was at the home also claimed that Geffrard made the threats but didn’t think he was going to hurt the victim although, “he was close enough to her that he could have hurt her,” she reportedly added.
Two officers and sergeant went to Monarch Drive to speak with Geffrard but there was no answer at the door. One of the witnesses stated that a vehicle was missing. They checked inside the home but he wasn’t there.
The report noted that the officers found a long, thick needle object, a Creole Injector turkey basting utensil, identified as the weapon used to allegedly threaten the victim.
At 11:13 a.m., officers were called back to the home after Geffrard had reportedly returned and things “were heated” again, according to the report.
The reporting officer spoke with the victim who had “several lacerations” on her face, and was crying and upset. She alleged that when he arrived, she hid in a bathroom and Geffrard allegedly forced his way in, closed the door behind him, and attacked her with a “jagged and silver” item. She reportedly attempted to protect her face and Geffrard allegedly scratched her, the affidavit noted. The victim stated that Geffrard was allegedly on top of her, hitting her, and she could not get up off the floor.
Another girl in the home then hit Geffrard with an item just before police arrived, according to the affidavit.
Police spoke with witnesses who alleged that Geffrard had assaulted the girl after returning to the home as well as neighbors noting that there was a lot of noise coming from the home just before police arrived.
During the melee, a toilet paper holder and toilet seat were also broken, another witness noted.
Geffrard was arrested and held, and arraigned the next day.
