Man Arrested In Concord Sentenced For Violating Probabtion

Hooksett man was on probation after pleading guilty to drug charges.

CONCORD -- A man arrested in Concord has been ordered to serve six months of a previously suspended sentence for violating probation on a drug conviction.

Charles Maynard, 30, formerly of Hooksett, was sentenced by the Merrimack County Superior Court on Monday.

Last May, Maynard pleaded guilty to a one charge each of selling carfentanil and methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 12 months, with six months suspended, on the methamphetamine charge, and one to three years, all of which was suspended, on the carfentanil charge, plus probation.

In August, Maynard was issued a violation of probation for failing to obtain a required licensed alcohol- and drug-abuse counselor evaluation. A supplemental violation was filed in December after Concord Police charged Maynard with misdemeanor theft and resisting arrest.

A New Hampshire Department of Justice statement said Maynard also pleaded guilty Monday to the misdemeanor charges from the December arrest, and will remain on probation until 2023 upon his release from prison.
