Man Barricaded Inside State Office Complex Building In Concord

Update: State police take one man into custody after he reportedly barricaded himself in a building at the Hugh Gallen State Office Park.

CONCORD, NH—New Hampshire State Police and Concord fire and rescue teams were at the Hugh Gallen State Office Complex Tuesday afternoon to investigate a report of a barricaded subject inside a building.

Limited information is available, but around 3:15 p.m., state troopers and campus security were sent to a building at the complex for a report of a man barricaded inside. The building was reported to be 127 Pleasant St. A Signal 1,000 alert — requesting limited radio chatter on the state police scanner channel was issued a few minutes later.

State police confirmed an incident on X-Twitter around 4 p.m. and stated it was contained.

“Troopers are on the scene of an active police incident within a building at the State Office Complex on Pleasant Street in Concord,” the post stated. “The situation is contained at this time.”

State police asked the public to avoid the area and said there would be updates later, “as appropriate.”

Later, Capital Region Fire Dispatch sent firefighters and EMTs to the scene to assist.

Around 4:30 p.m., state police said on X-Twitter the scene remained “active and ongoing” and requested everyone to avoid the area.

A few hours later, state police were still seen at the scene. While specifics were not given, on X-Twitter, the department stated there was no threat to the public, but they were still asking everyone to avoid the area.

“We appreciate everyone's patience,” the post said.

At a little before 8:15 p.m., state police stated one man was taken into custody, according to scanner chatter.
