Man Charged with DWI After Hitting State Police Cruiser

Accident occurred at 10:16 p.m. Thursday on I-393.

A Loudon man was charged with drunken driving after hitting a marked New Hampshire State Police cruiser on Interstate 393 in Concord on Thursday night.

Around 10:16 p.m. Thursday, while parked in the breakdown lane monitoring eastbound traffic using radar, Trooper Stan Dombrowski clocked a vehicle speeding on I-393, according to a state police press release. As the car approached the cruiser, it entered the breakdown lane and crossed onto the rumble strips, striking the rear corner of the driver's side of the vehicle.

Dombrowski was not injured in the crash, but his cruiser did sustain damage to its rear bumper, rear operator side quarter panel, and rear operator side tail lamp assembly, according to the press release.

The driver of the other vehicle, Robert Bryson, 39, of Loudon, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and failure to stay within marked lanes. He will be arraigned at a future date in Concord District Court. Bryson was the only occupant of his vehicle, and he was not injured in the crash.
