Hanson allegedly followed, began to chase her, and continued to yell at her to get back into the car or “I’m going to throw you in the water,” according to the officer’s affidavit. She walked up the road, turned around, and then turned around again, heading east. Hanson, according to her allegation, parked the car on Manchester Street and allegedly continued to follow her, screaming, and she was afraid because he had allegedly assaulted her in the past. She said she told him she wanted to be left alone. Hanson reportedly got back into the car and continued to follow her.

Hanson reportedly parked the car again and she stated that he allegedly threatened to “f--- her up” and that he didn’t care, according to the report.

She wrote a statement while other officers arrived to search the area for Hanson while the reporting officer spoke to the witness.

The witness stated that she saw a man screaming at a woman for about five minutes and reportedly yelling, “Don’t you f------ dare” and “leave, go back where you came from,” and something about a stolen item that the man wanted back. The witness lost sight of them but then saw them again, standing on the street yelling at each other. The woman was yelling, “shut up,” and then she allegedly heard the man threaten her if she didn’t get back into the vehicle, the witness stated. The witness alleged that the man appeared to have a knife in his waistband. The man reportedly fled after police arrived, the witness stated.

The reporting officer asked the victim about a knife and they went to the car and found it by the front seat, according to the affidavit.

Dispatch also told officers that there was a criminal bail order out of Franklin District Court for both Hanson and the woman from a previous incident. He also had a suspended license from May 2015 and was found guilty of operation after revocation in June 2015.

A U.S. Postal Service employee informed police that they saw a man matching the description of Hanson in Jensen’s. A sergeant and an officer arrested him on Fairfield Drive.

Hanson was held on $5,000 cash bail and he was arraigned on March 14.

According to online reports, Hanson has been arrested during the past four years in Belmont, Franklin, and Northfield, on various charges including second-dgree assault, domestic violence, assault, violation of a protective order, criminal mischief, and driving after revocation or suspension.
