Manchester Community Music School Names Katherine Dallaire Musician of the Month
Manchester Community Music School Musician of the Month - Katherine Dallaire
The Manchester Community Music School is thrilled to announce that one of its adult students, Katherine Dallaire of Chester, NH, has been named musician of the month for April!
Kathy is a very familiar face in the halls of the Music School as she has been studying music there since the late 1980’s and is very involved in a number of Music School programs! Kathy currently studies voice with Jill Pennington, plays in the “Tuneful Trio Ensemble” coached by Kyoko Hida-Battaglia, is one of the founding members of the “NH Recorder Consort”, and as if that’s not enough she also occasionally takes cello lessons with Harel Gietheim.
“Kathy has a great dedication and love for music,” commented Kyoko Hida-Battaglia. “She is a retired school teacher and has made a second career with music. Her musical tastes have broadened and grown from classical to some more contemporary styles. She has also grown as a performer and is no longer afraid to perform – she enjoys it! Kathy is a role model for everyone. She proves that it is possible for anyone to grow as a musician anytime in their life – even in their retirement!”

“One thing I want to stress,” said Kathy “is how special the Manchester Community Music School is! As an adult, I am far more critical about whom I study with, it is especially important that I click with my teachers and have a good rapport. I tried to find another music school while I was away on vacation and I could not find one that has such a broad offering of skill levels, instruments, and age levels. Kyoko is delightful! She speaks from experience. She is gentle but exacting and it is fun to watch her dance while she’s listening to and conducting our ensemble!”
The Manchester Community Music School is dedicated to providing high-quality music education opportunities and music therapy services for individuals of all ages and abilities.
