CONCORD, NH — A man from Massachusetts was arrested on Sunday night after being accused of drunken driving and crashing his car into a house on South Main Street.
Just before 8:45 p.m., fire and police dispatch were sent to the area of the intersection of Broadway and Wiggins Street for a crash after a driver drove their car into the side of a house on South Main Street. After the vehicle crashed, a witness, according to dispatch, claimed the driver appeared to be “pretty visibly intoxicated.” The first arriving officer confirmed the street address as South Main Street.
The officer ran a check on a Ford Fusion with a Massachusetts registration and said the driver was a man from Lynn, MA.

“It’s in the house,” one officer said.
The fire commander told dispatch there was “a significant structural issue with the foundation.”
Police began searching the immediate area and discovered the car was missing part of a tire. The officer told others the driver appeared to have hit something else, possibly on Broadway, before driving into the house.
When they arrived, firefighters checked out the driver and the house’s foundation. An officer said the car had taken out a large section of the southern side of the house’s foundation.
A second officer said the driver would be given field sobriety tests after being eyed by EMTs.
A third officer checked Broadway from West Street to the crash scene and could not find any other crash damage. The intersection at Broadway and Rockingham Street was also shut down.
After about 15 minutes of field sobriety testing, the second officer said the driver was being arrested. The officer stated the driver urinated on himself during a search.
News 603 posted a video from the scene on Facebook.
Firefighters set up lights and worked to prop up and stabilize the home. A tow truck was also called to the scene. One resident was also assisted out of their home.
New Hampshire State Police also arrived to assist police with a blood draw, according to scanner chatter.
