CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police arrested two men during overnight patrols on Interstate 93 in Hooksett.

Troopers from Troop D were conducting "enhanced enforcement" on Friday and Saturday in which several motorists were contacted, according to Sgt. Vincent Grieco, on various violations. Two men, however, were arrested.

One, Shivam Gupta, 22, of Quincy, Massachusetts, was arrested on a reckless operation charge while driving south on I-93.

Grieco said two troopers were monitoring traffic when one clocked a vehicle driving at 122 mph. He was able to radio a second trooper, who was not far away from his location, and that trooper also accused the driver of traveling "in excess of 100 mph," Grieco said.

"Troopers were able to affect a motor vehicle stop and make contact with the operator," he said. "Gupta was placed under arrest and released on personal recognizance bail (later)."

Gupta will be arraigned in Hooksett District Court at a later date.

Not long after Gupta was arrested, another trooper watching the traffic on the northbound side of the highway, clocked another vehicle at 122 mph, according to the report. She pulled the vehicle over and accused the driver, William Breen Jr., 28, of Manchester, of being under the influence. Breen, Grieco stated, "refused all requested testing," and was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence, and reckless operation. A passenger in his vehicle was taken into protective custody and released to a sober party, he said. Breen will also be arraigned in Hooksett District Court at a later date.
