Massachusetts Man Arrested for Speeding

New Hampshire State Police: Mark Gleeson was clocked going 103 mph on I-89.

A Massachusetts man has a court date in January after allegedly being caught speeding on I-89 in Sunapee.

Mark Gleeson, 48, of Lynn, MA, was arrested at around noon on Nov. 9, and charged with reckless operation and operating after a suspension.

According to a press statement, the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit was conducting traffic enforcement on I-89 on Sunday and allegedly clocked Gleeson going 103 mph in a 65 zone in the town of Sunapee. State police aircraft reportedly clocked the vehicle and a trooper on the ground later stopped it and arrested Gleeson.

He’s due in Newport District Court on Jan. 13, 2015, for arraignment.

According to police, Special Enforcement Unit regularly “interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol across the state often utilizing the State Police aircraft during commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping New Hampshire’s roadways safe for all residents and visitors.”

According to online press reports, Gleeson has been arrested in the past including an arrest in Salem, MA, for an outstanding warrant in 2013, and in Lynn, MA, in 2013, for trespassing and possession of heroin.
