Court: Scott Prince allegedly assaulted and robbed a man on South Main Street in a reported fit of jealous rage; two men are still at-large.

CONCORD, NH — A local man was arrested last month on assault and robbery charges after he allegedly attacked another man who was reportedly involved sexually with a woman he was previously involved with, according to police and a court affidavit. Scott Prince, 49, a homeless man currently located in Concord with a last known address of Elliott Street, was arrested at 9:25 p.m. on Oct. 12, 2017, for first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and armed robbery, all felonies. On Sept. 12, 2017, officers were sent to South Main Street near the Unfranchised Auto facility for a report of a man who was bleeding from the face and hands, according to an affidavit.

The man reportedly stated that he was jumped by a few men but the “primary aggressor” allegedly was Prince. The man had cuts on a finger and forearm and alleged that Prince used a gray pocket knife to cut him.

The victim stated that he was walking down Thorndike Street when he was “chased down by Prince and two other males,” according to the report. Prince allegedly struck the man with the knife while the other two men assaulted him, the victim stated. One of the men had a neck tattoo and left the area in a two-door Honda, he noted.
After the assault, Prince allegedly stole the victim’s Nike sneakers, $500 in cash, a gold chain, a watch, a diamond ring, and a cellphone, according to the affidavit. The victim was transported to Concord Hospital where he received stitches for his wounds.

A second officer interviewed him at the hospital and the victim reportedly stated that he thought Prince allegedly jumped him because he was having relations with a woman he was previously involved with. The victim was reportedly with that woman, in her tent in the homeless camp along I-93 north of Exit 13, before the attack.
The officer went to the homeless camp and spoke with the woman who stated that Prince was reportedly upset that they were no longer involved and she was involved with other people, the report noted. The woman alleged that she saw Prince the day before with another homeless man and someone named “Tyler.”
On Sept. 27, another homeless man who was reportedly with Prince that evening was arrested on a warrant. He reportedly told a detective that he, Prince, and a second homeless woman were together that night on Thorndike Street but separated after Prince and the second woman decided to meet with another man that he didn’t get along with, according to the affidavit. The detective noted that the third man was a known meth dealer and user in the area, had tattoos, and a two-door Honda.
“(The man) said that he later received text messages from (the second woman),” the detective wrote. “She told (him) that Prince jumped (the victim). (He) said that he knew Prince was upset with (the victim) because (he) had a ‘3-way’ with (the woman at the camp) and another female.”
The detective noted in the report that the man was “adamant” that he was not involved in the assault and spoke to the victim after the incident, adding they were on “good terms.” He also alleged that Prince gave him a pair of Nikes but would not tell him where they came from.
On Oct. 3, the detective went down to the homeless camp and spoke with the woman who was reportedly with Prince the evening of the attack. She stated that the woman who was involved with the victim and Prince had left the camp, according to the report. She reportedly confirmed that she was with Prince, that the other man was with them but had left before the attack, and that they did meet up with the third man.
“(The woman) said that she told Prince not to do anything stupid,” the affidavit stated, but he allegedly took off running after the victim anyway.
The woman reportedly went to get two other men in order to try and stop the assault. They went to the scene but she didn’t, she claimed. Later, she stated, she saw the victim, after he had been stitched up and he allegedly told her that Prince reportedly jumped him, according to the report. She alleged that the other man told her later that Prince stole the Nikes, too. Prince, however, reportedly “never directly told her what happened but ‘hinted’ toward his involvement in the incident,” the report stated.
On Oct. 6, the detective issued a probable cause warrant against Prince for the charges.
On Oct. 12, at around 8 p.m., officers were sent to Thorndike Street for a report of a possible disturbance. During the process of heading to the area, they learned that the subject may have gone to another building on the street. Police went there and stopped a vehicle after recognizing one of the passengers, according to a report. A woman who was previously living at the camp was also there, according to the report.
Prince allegedly held an object in front of his face in an attempt to conceal himself from a detective at the scene, the report stated, while trying to leave. The detective told him to stop, put the object down, and he eventually did, according to the report. He was then arrested.
Prince’s bail was set at $15,000 cash.
