Mueller Back on the Air in Tampa

The popular New England broadcaster has returned to Florida after leaving NH1 News in Concord earlier this month.

If you turn on NH1 News and don’t see Paul Mueller at the television news desk on any longer, here’s why: A mere 15 months after joining NH1 News in Concord, the anchor and reporter has returned to the airwaves of Tampa, beginning a new chapter in his career at WFLA-TV NBC 8 today, according to a post on New England One, a news media website.

Mueller said that it was a “bittersweet moment” to be returning to Florida to a station he grew up watching as a kid and a media market that he previously competed in. He will be working as an assignment reporter at the station which is in the second largest media market in Florida and 13th overall nationally, according to an online metropolitan market analysis, a clear step back up to the big time where he once was when he worked in Tampa and also Boston, the 7th largest market in the United States.

In a post on Facebook earlier this month, Mueller said, “I feel so fortunate and blessed to have been an anchor and chief investigative reporter as I returned to New England.” However, he added, that that it would be great to be able to see his friends, family, former colleagues, and “everyone in the community I came to know and love.”
