At around 9 p.m. on Jan. 30, 2016, Merrimack County dispatch relayed an attempt to locate call and information involving a reported stolen pickup truck out of Henniker with Prescott as the alleged driver, according to a court affidavit.

An officer in Hopkinton spotted the vehicle on Route 202/9 traveling east near Stumpfield Road and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The pickup allegedly rear-ended a Nissan Altima, causing damage, and then, fled the scene, according to the officer. The pickup continued on Route 202/9 and was allegedly “traveling at a very high rate of speed and at time on the opposite site of the road,” according to the officer.

“(The officer) observed the operator cross over the solid yellow lines as well as drive over a curb while attempting to turn onto South Road,” the affidavit alleged.

The officer alleged that the vehicle continued on South Road about another mile but ended the pursuit due to “the reckless manner the Chevrolet was being operated” and after the pickup truck entered Weare.

The officer headed back to the accident scene to speak to the operator of the Altima, who was not injured during the collision. The vehicle sustained rear-end damage, according to the report. The woman confirmed that the white pickup allegedly smashed into her vehicle and then fled the scene.

Other police departments were alerted to the vehicle and reportedly attempted to stop it. The vehicle was stopped in Boscawen after traveling through Weare, Dunbarton, Concord, and Penacook, according to scanner chatter and police.

Prescott was arrested in Boscawen by New Hampshire State Police with the assistance of Concord Police. The officer filed a probable cause warrant against Prescott on Feb. 10, 2016.
