Music School Receives Grant from Bank of America

Funding to provide support for New Hampshire's largest community music school, located in Concord.

Concord Community Music School has received a $5,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to provide continued support for the school’s musical instruction programs.

We are delighted to be partnering with the Bank of America Charitable Foundation in our 30thyear of operation. We are grateful that Bank of America has once again generously shared funds for our operating expenditures at the Music School, and we continue to celebrate the mission of access that we achieve by working together,” said Peggy Senter, Concord Community Music School President.

The Music School strives to build a strong sense of community through music by providing various programs to people of all ages, musical abilities and backgrounds. The School’s 1,400 students range in age from 6 months to 97 years, and come to the School from more than 100 communities in four states.

“For the past three decades, people from all walks of life have taken advantage of Concord Community Music School,” said Ken Sheldon, Bank of America New Hampshire president. “The programs they offer have enriched countless individuals and families, and the school has had an immeasurable impact on the local arts and culture scene.”

Concord Community Music School is a full member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts and is recognized nationally for program innovation and management excellence. Welcoming adults, teens and children of all musical abilities, 55 artist teachers reach more than 33,000 people in four states with educational programs, concerts, workshops and community partnerships. CCMS has received major funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Hearst Foundation, New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, Jane’s Trust, and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and is the 2005 recipient of the NH Governor’s Arts Award for Cultural Access Leadership.
