Myriad Of Crashes In The City Keep Concord Cops, Firefighters Busy
Officers and firefighters were kept busy Tuesday with several crashes in the city — including a multi-hour pole repair on Pleasant Street.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police and fire and rescue teams were kept exceedingly busy with crashes all over the city for two hours on Tuesday.
Police were first sent to Hoit Road and Mountain Road at around 3:15 p.m. for a report of two vehicles with heavy damage. New Hampshire State Police said New Hampshire Fish & Game was at the scene.
When the first officer arrived, they reported one vehicle, a Jeep, that was off the road in a ditch. The second vehicle was a Toyota Prius. They also requested fire and rescue teams. One person was taken to Concord Hospital by ambulance.

Firefighters cleared later and no preference tow trucks were requested for the vehicles just before 4 p.m.
A few minutes later, police and firefighters were sent to Pleasant Street near Langley Parkway for a report of a vehicle driving into a utility pole, as Patch first reported on Facebook.

The first arriving officer closed the westbound side of the road. A few minutes later, they requested backup to close both sides of the road due to traffic issues. The vehicle was a Chevrolet Equinox SUV with a Massachusetts registration. The officer also requested fire and rescue teams to assist the driver.
Unitil was also called because the utility pole was snapped.
An officer stated one person in the SUV appeared to have a leg injury and they were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Pleasant Street was closed for several hours while Unitil repaired the pole.
At around 4:45 p.m., fire and rescue teams were sent to Loudon Road at Gully Hill for a multi-vehicle vehicle accident. A police officer driving on Loudon Road reported the crash to dispatch after seeing firefighters at the scene. The dispatcher stated they knew nothing about the call.
“We got absolutely no calls on this,” the dispatcher said.
The eastbound side of the road was shut down.
A few minutes later, police were called to the intersection of Langley Parkway and Clinton Street for another multi-vehicle accident.
Just before 5 p.m., the first arriving officer said there were no injuries and all the vehicles were out of the roadway.
