Nearly $18K In Scholarships Given To High School Students
Students from Merrimack Valley High School and other communities receive money from Franklin Savings Bank's scholarship fund.
FRANKLIN, NH — Franklin Savings Bank awarded nearly $18,000 in scholarships to 17 high school students in 2019. The scholarships, awarded through the FSB Scholarship Fund, were given to seniors from Merrimack Valley High School in Penacook as well as Franklin High School, Gilford High School, Merrimack High School, Newfound Regional High School, and Winnisquam Regional High School. The scholarship fund was established in 1994 in an effort to help students pay for their higher education.
Since that time, the fund has awarded more than $332,500 to 627 students.
"We are proud to support the aspirations of graduating seniors with their goals to pursue higher education in their chosen disciplines," noted Ron Magoon, the president and CEO of the company. "As a community bank with strong ties in the communities we have proudly served for 150 years, we are honored to assist high school graduates and their families who may be faced with the challenge of paying for higher education."

Magoon noted that the fund was the bank's commitment to helping families expand opportunities for their children who wish to enroll in college on a full-time basis.
