Newbury Man Dies After 4-Vehicle Crash On Route 202/9 In Henniker

Nathan Hathaway was driving east when it appeared that he crossed the center line into westbound traffic, according to police.

HENNIKER, NH — A Newbury man died after a four-vehicle crash in Henniker Monday, according to police.

At just after 4 p.m., Henniker police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the multi-vehicle accident on Route 202-Route 9 near Route 114. Two of the vehicles were involved in a head-on collision while the other two vehicles were involved in crashes after the first collision.

Nathan R. Hathaway, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials. Witnesses and police said he was driving east when he veered across the center line into westbound traffic, according to to Chief Matthew French of the Henniker Police Department.

A woman from Hillsboro, who was driving the other vehicle involved in the head-on collision as well as a child passenger, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Two other drivers, from Hillsboro and Keene, were treated at the crash scene and released.

Henniker police and New Hampshire State Police are investigating the crash and asking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, French said.
