NH Fiddle Ensemble Concert Series Comes to Bow

BOW, NH - With cars, trucks and desks moved out, sounds of rock, folk, country, pop, Irish, swing, classical, Cajun and bluegrass will fill the unlikely venue of the Grappone Toyota dealership in Bow on Saturday, April 9, while raising money to prevent child abuse and neglect in New Hampshire.

The NH Fiddle Ensemble is a group of acoustic musicians including guitars, mandolins, banjos, and basses. More than 60 musicians ranging in age and expertise will come together to produce a high-quality show.

“It’s more than just fiddle tunes,” Ellen Carlson, the main NH Fiddle Ensemble coach, said in a press statement. “With kids playing fiddles behind their backs and hula-hooping while they play, a 75-year-old woman stepping up to rip up a bluegrass fiddle tune solo, a 50-year-old teetotaler who can belt out a great Irish drinking song, a 60-year-old woman singing the blues, a stone mason who steps up to play an upright bass solo on a swing song, and so much more.”

The NH Fiddle Ensemble will hold the first of their three New Hampshire concerts at the Grappone Toyota dealership located at 594 NH-3A in Bow, on Saturday, April 9. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children and can be purchased in advance online at nhchildrenstrust.org/fiddleconcord or at the event with cash or check. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will benefit NH Children’s Trust, the NH chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, with special help from the Grappone Automotive Group. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the concert is just one of many ways NH Children’s Trust spreads awareness to gain support for prevention strategies.
