NH Film & Television Office Begins Monthly Meetings

The N.H. Film and Television Office has announced a monthly discussion series for media professionals, which will take place at 6 p.m. on the third Monday of every month at New England College’s Concord campus, 62 North Main St.

Speakers at the October meeting include Matthew Newton, director of the NHFTVO, and Jay Doherty, executive director of the Somewhat North of Boston (SNOB) Film Festival. Discussion will focus on film festivals, including SNOB, which takes place in Concord from Nov. 6-9, 2014.

Filmmakers, media production professionals, students and the general public are encouraged to attend the meeting. In addition to the discussion portion of the evening, attendees will also have time to network.

Future meetings will continue to address issues that affect the state’s film, television and media production community.

“In addition to our industry meet-ups that move around the state, we wanted to provide New Hampshire’s filmmaking community with an ongoing forum that is centrally located in Concord,” said Newton. “We’re pleased that New England College has offered to support this sector of our state’s economy by hosting the series.”

The New Hampshire Film and Television Office, as part of the New Hampshire Department of Cultural Resources, works to expand business activity and employment throughout the state by acting as a liaison between the film industry and an established network of government agencies, the state’s film industry workforce, and local property owners. The Office is responsible for location assistance, public relations and general production support in an effort to broaden the cultural and economic impact of film and television production in the state.
