NH Firefighters’ Union Endorses Connolly
The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire say the Democrat will challenge the status quo and bring drive, passion to the role.
MANCHESTER, NH — The Granite State’s largest firefighter association has offered its endorsement to a candidate that members say will offer passion, talent, and leadership, especially in the fight against heroin, which is taking its toll on union members on the frontlines of the opioid fight. In Manchester on Aug. 1, 2016, the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire endorsed Democrat Mark Connolly in the five-way primary race to be held next month.
In a statement, David Lang, the president of the union, said Connolly stood “head and shoulders above (his opponents) in passion, drive, and approach to the problems facing New Hampshire’s working families.” He added that they believed the candidate would “challenge the status quo” and bring leadership to the role.
“We look forward to helping Mark secure the nomination and believe he has the skills necessary as governor to continue fighting the heroin crisis we are facing, strengthening our economy, and protecting the people of the Granite State, a place we call home,” Lang added.

"I am truly honored to have the support of the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire, who put their own lives on the line each and every day, protecting our communities and New Hampshire families,” said Connolly in a statement. “In the midst of the most devastating public health crisis in generations, fire fighters and paramedics are on the frontlines combating opioid overdoses and saving Granite State lives.
