NH Fugitive, Alleged Rapist Found Hiding In An Attic: Marshals
Breaking: Steven Bussiere, a convicted robber who was wanted for an alleged sexual assault in April, was arrested last night in Manchester.

CONCORD, NH — A New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week from two weeks ago has been captured after allegedly found hiding in an attic on Dubuque Street in Manchester late last night, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Steven Bussiere, 25, was arrested on May 31, 2017, by Manchester Police and the U.S Marshals Service on two outstanding arrest warrants. The warrants were issued by the New Hampshire Parole Board, for alleged violations after being convicted of robbery, and another by the Goffstown Police Department, for aggravated felonious sexual assault in that community in April of this year.

After Bussiere – who was convicted in Keene in May 2016 of robbery and was previously charged with violations in the past – was featured as a fugitive last month, “countless tips” were submitted about possible locations where he might be hiding out, according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White of the U.S. Marshals Service.

“The particular tips that came in last night were very specific and resulted in the U.S. Marshals requesting the assistance of the Manchester Police Department to quickly respond to an address in the 400 block of Dubuque Street, while members of the Marshals Fugitive Task Force could also respond,” he noted. “After the initial search, it was determined that Bussiere was hiding in the attic of the residence.”
Officers reportedly attempted to convince him to surrender, “without success,” but as soon as the attic hatch was opened, Bussiere was allegedly “immediately visible,” White stated.

“Bussiere came out of the attic on his own and was arrested without further incident,” White said, adding, “The officers of the Manchester Police Department went above and beyond in conducting a search for Busierre.”
Bussiere was processed in Manchester with the added charge of resisting arrest added to the other charges. He is being held without bail and is due in court later today.
“The U.S. Marshals are extremely happy with the arrest of seven Fugitives of the Week since May 19,” said U.S. Marshal David L. Cargill Jr. in a statement. “This continues to demonstrate the power of cooperation between law enforcement, the media, and our countless tipsters that want to make their cities and towns safer.”
Cargill also thanked the Manchester Police Department for “everything that they did last night to make the arrest of Bussiere safe and successful. Without their assistance, this arrest would not have been possible.”
