NH Fugitive Caught ‘Hiding in Locked Room’: Marshals

Breaking: Fugitive of the Week tips lead investigators to apprehend Michael Lovely at a home in Barrington yesterday.

CONCORD, NH — This week’s U.S. Marshals New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week was quickly found and arrested after investigators received tips that he might be in Barrington, according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White. Michael W. Lovely, 33, was arrested on April 12, 2017, on active warrants on multiple charges after allegedly hiding in a locked room.

Lovely was wanted on multiple assault charges after an incident in Rochester earlier this month. At the time, a SWAT team was sent to Washington Street and safely woman and children safely from the home – however Lovely slipped away. He had not been seen since April 6, according to investigators.

After being featured as this week’s fugitive, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force developed information that led to a residence on Long Shores Drive in Barrington yesterday afternoon.

“Although occupants of this home denied knowing where Mr. Lovely was, it was during the search of this residence that Lovely was discovered hiding inside of a locked room,” White alleged. “Lovely was arrested without further incident and transported to the Rochester Police Department for processing on his outstanding arrest warrant.”

After processing and refusing bail, Lovely was transported to the Strafford County Jail for holding pending his initial court appearance.

White noted that the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office, Federal Protective Service, the Rochester and Barrington Police Departments, U.S. Probation, and deputy U.S. Marshals all participated in the arrest and investigation.
