U.S. Marshals catch up with Jeffrey Nickerson, a sex offender and sexual assaulter convicted in Middlesex County, at a Chelmsford hotel.

Jeffrey Nickerson has been a two-time New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week. And two times, U.S. Marshals have caught him.
Nickerson, 41, of Franklin, was arrested on Oct. 2, 2015, and charged with being a fugitive from justice and outstanding warrants out of Belknap and Rockingham County Superior Courts for bail and probation violations.

Nickerson was arrested after marshals learned he was staying in a Chelmsford hotel. When marshals arrived, they saw him leaving with a companion in a vehicle with New Hampshire plates. They followed the vehicle on I-495 in Lowell and stopped him.
“Once the vehicle was stopped, Nickerson was arrested without incident,” according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White.

Nickerson’s warrants were based on probation after being convicted of burglary and theft by unauthorized taking. Previously, he was captured hiding in a refrigerator in June in Pittsfield. Nickerson went to court and posted $10,000 cash bail. He was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 24, 2015, but reportedly failed to appear which caused the new warrants.
Nickerson is also a registered sex offender in the state of New Hampshire based on a 1994 conviction of three sexual assault charges out of Middlesex County in Massachusetts.
“The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force deemed Nickerson a high priority case, due to his extensive criminal history and being a convicted sex offender,” White stated.
After his arrest, Nickerson was transported to the Lowell District Court and turned over to the Mass. State Police for charges. He is being held in the Middlesex County Jail.
