Peter MacVane Curtis, who was wanted on weapon threat and probation violation warrants, was arrested in Portland after a chase and crash.

Peter MacVane Curtis, 34, last known to be a transient in Maine, was arrested by Portland police on Monday after a chase and crash, Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal in New Hampshire, said.
Curtis was wanted on kidnapping and criminal threatening with a deadly weapon warrants as well as a probation violation warrant after being convicted on a narcotics charge in Maine. Marshals in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts were searching for Curtis, and a $1,500 reward was posted for information leading to his capture, White said.
“This reward definitely enticed quite a few people to call in tips that helped to narrow the search for Mr. Curtis,” he said. “Investigators are still trying to determine if someone is eligible to receive the reward but be assured that it will be paid if that determination is made.”

White said deputies in the three states filtered through and followed up on tips to track down the fugitive. Portland police officers, who White called “eagle-eyed,” spotted a stolen vehicle with Curtis inside on Monday, and a chase ensued. Curtis crashed the vehicle and was then arrested, he said.
“Curtis was brought to a local hospital to be treated for any injuries so that he could be medically cleared to go to the Cumberland County Jail,” White said. “Curtis will be held as a fugitive from justice on the New Hampshire arrest warrant, as well as his Maine probation violation warrant.”
Curtis will likely face additional charges issued by the Portland Police Department for his offenses on Monday, White said.
Curtis, according to news reports, has been involved in assaults, burglaries, drug possession, larcenies, and trafficking in prison contraband, s well as multiple high-speed police chases in all three states.
