NH Officials Investigating Fatal Fire In Concord

Breaking: An elderly man was found deceased in a kitchen after a fire on Trinity Street in Concord this morning.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Fire Marshal’s Office along with police and fire officials in Concord are investigating the death of a local man after a fire in his home this morning. Concord Fire and Rescue teams along with police were sent to 7 Trinity St. in Concord for a report of an extinguished fire around 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, 2017, according to officials. According to NorthEast Fire Alerts on Twitter, the fire was considered to be a minor stove fire in the kitchen of a private dwelling.

“Arriving Concord Fire Department members discovered an extinguished fire within the home and a deceased elderly male subject in the kitchen,” according to Christopher Wyman, a fire investigator with the NH DOS. “The cause of the fire is still under investigation.”

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow in order to positively identify the victim and make the proper notification to his family.

"Fire Marshal J. William Degnan and Concord Fire Chief Daniel Andrus want to remind everyone that properly working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms save lives," Wyman noted.
