NHSP: Drunk Driver Drove Through Cones, Berated Workers at Sinkhole Site

Troopers arrest Thomas Conner of Chichester on I-93 earlier today after he allegedly blew three times the legal limit on a Breathalyzer.

A local man was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated after allegedly driving along a closed section of I-93 near the sinkhole in Concord.

Thomas Conner, 55, of Chichester, was arrested on Aug. 19, 2015, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Trooper Sgt. William Graham alleged in a statement that while attempting to prevent vehicles from entering I-93 north at Exit 13, Conner allegedly “proceeded around the signs, traffic cones, and flags to get onto the closed highway.” When he arrived at the sinkhole site, he allegedly began berating construction workers for being in his way.

“New Hampshire Troopers approached Conner and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. Conner was arrested, and transported to Troop D where he submitted to a breath test,” according to Graham. “The result of the test showed an alcohol content in excess of three times the legal limit of .08.”

Conner was charged and is due in court on Sept. 4.
