NHSP Hit Truckers with 338 Violations

Operation "All Boots on the Ground" targeted commercial vehicle safety enforcement in New Hampshire earlier this week.

On Tuesday, April 7, 2015, members of New Hampshire State Police, Troop G, conducted an “All Boots on the Ground” unannounced commercial vehicle safety enforcement blitz statewide, according to a press statement.

Troopers were assigned to various locations throughout the Granite State and participated in conducting commercial vehicle inspections focusing on driver and equipment safety violations.

According to troopers, a total of 181 inspections were performed resulting in the discovery of 338 violations. Of those 338, 61 placed either drivers or vehicles out of service. These out of service violations ranged from drivers possessing alcohol to failure to comply with hours of service regulations. Vehicle out of service violations included defective brakes, tires and load securement as well as defective lighting.

The New Hampshire State Police work diligently to remove unsafe drivers and vehicles from the roadways, the statement said. These unannounced enforcement efforts will continue throuout the year and have proven to be an effective tool in reducing crashes.
