NHSP: Mass. Man Clocked Going 113 on I-93 in Bow

Matthew Severance of Weymouth was arrested yesterday at a traffic stop.

A Massachusetts man was arrested yesterday after allegedly being clocked going 113 mph by New Hampshire State Police aircraft.

Matthew Severance, 21, of Weymouth, MA, was arrested on Aug. 28, 2015, and charged with reckless operation.

According to NHSP, at around 10:15 a.m., the department’s special enforcement unit was conducting traffic surveillance on I-93 and clocked a vehicle traveling at 113 mph in a 65-speed zone on the southbound side of the highway.

A state trooper on the ground pulled the Honda Fit over and arrested Severance. He is due to appear in Concord District Court on Oct. 8.

In a statement, Sgt. Patrick Curran of the NHSP said, “The NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol across the state often utilizing the State Police aircraft during commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping New Hampshire’s roadways safe for all residents and visitors.”
