Why are you seeking elective office?
I am seeking office because our New Hampshire Advantage has been coming under attack during the last few legislative sessions.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
It is difficult to name one single issue, so I would sum it up as saying that there has been a big push to fundamentally change New Hampshire into a state that mimics Massachusetts, California or New York. New Hampshire is unique in that it is the "live free or die" state. Our government was meant to be limited. However, we have witnessed legislation that would impose what amounts to an income tax, that would violate our 1st, 2nd and 4th Amendment rights, and would expand the state at the expense of our liberties. If elected I would thoroughly review all legislation to make sure it empowers people; not big government.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have a Master's Degree in the Foundations of American Government, where I have studied the U.S. Constitution and Economics.I have also taken courses on the New Hampshire Constitution. I have the courage and determination to hold government to its constitutional authority.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
All three of the incumbents I am challenging have voted for or supported increasing taxes, fees and regulations on businesses. They have supported "Red Flag Laws" which violate due process. They fail to understand that the government which governs best, governs least.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform
I believe that people have the right to make their own decisions when it comes to financial issues, the education of their children, and their own medical choices, without government interference.
I would help local businesses create jobs by lowering taxes and fees, and eliminating burdensome regulations.
I pledge to never vote for an income or sales tax.
I would work to eliminate any policy which contributes to the high electric rates we suffer in New Hampshire.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
As both a teacher and a police officer, I have had many dealings with people and have learned to listen when something is important to another.
As a student of history, I understand American Exceptionalism and the "live free or die" mentality.
As political activist I have worked on many campaigns, have testified before the Concord City Council and at the State House, and have volunteered with different policy organizations.
The best advice ever shared with me was …
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. My dad taught me to always do my best and never give up when something is important to me.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
During these uncertain times of Covid-19, when government imposed restrictions on many businesses, resulting in a high unemployment rate and loss of jobs, it is imperative that voters elect leaders in Concord who understand basic economics and who understand that now is not the time to raise taxes and fees on our struggling citizens.
