Pancake Mix Recalled After E. coli Scare

Continental Mills is recalling Krusteaz Blueberry Pancake Mix created earlier this year.

Continental Mills, the company that manufactures the Krusteaz line of pancake mixes is recalling packages of its blueberry pancake mix created earlier this year because it may be contaminated with E. coli, according to an FDA alert.

“The company was notified by our supplier that their product, a blueberry nugget, is made with a small percentage of affected flour which was recalled by General Mills because it may be contaminated with E. coli O121,” according to communications director Dana Ross. “This is an isolated issue, and only affects specific lots of Krusteaz Blueberry Pancake Mix. Food Safety is our highest priority and this has caused us to take action for the safety of our consumers.”

Boxes of the mix manufactured between April and June of this year are the ones being recalled.
