'We feel really positive': Merrimack Valley School District clears deficit, returns $1.8 million to taxpayers (concordmonitor.com) — Merrimack Valley School District, which serves parts of Concord including Penacook, has erased its budget deficit and will return about $1.8 million to local taxpayers through lower December property tax bills. After two years of freezes, staffing cuts, and tighter oversight, new financial controls and higher-than-expected state aid helped the district stabilize its budget and build a modest reserve while pledging continued fiscal vigilance.

Marquis' interception, fumble recovery leads Concord to rout of Central (unionleader.com) — Concord High's football team thrilled hometown fans with a 40-0 homecoming shutout of Manchester Central in their return to Memorial Field, powered by standout defender and receiver Nick Marquis.
